APEM9 is required for both PTS1- and PTS2-dependent protein transport. APEM9 interacts with PEX6 in BiFC assay and mating-based Split ubiquitin system. BiFC data shows that APEM9 is required for peroxisomal localization of PEX1-PEX6 complex. These results indicate that APEM9 functions like mammalian PEX26 and yeast PEX15. |
