1 The methicillin (oxacillin)-resistant S. aureus (MRSA, ORSA) stems usually present the phenomenon of multiresistance, i.e. the resistance towards substances of several classes of antibiotics, and, therefore, are not only resistant to all beta-lactamantibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins, carbapenems).
