Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular response to ionomycin; cellular response to lipopolysaccharide; and cellular response to phorbol 13-acetate 12-myristate. Located in bicellular tight junction and nucleus. Part of cyclin D1-CDK4 complex; cyclin D2-CDK4 complex; and transcription regulator complex. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; branchial arch; nervous system; sensory organ; and urinary system. Used to study skin melanoma and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
