1 Immunohistochemical studies revealed that DAS reduced the bleomycin-induced activation of inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-kappaB) and decreased the augmented levels of the early inflammatory cytokines, tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-1beta (IL-1beta), in the lung tissues.
